October 2021!
Who doesn't love October?!? It's finally starting to consistently cool down in Phoenix. When I say cool down, I mean highs in the 80s and low 90s :). We only had one major illness - Ben went to the emergency room with a sudden, very high fever and lethargy where he was for appendicitis. Thankfully, that test came back negative and his pediatrician thinks he likely had hand, foot & mouth disease. He spent a few days home with us until he was feeling better.
With the rest of the month illness-free we were able to take a trip down to Tucson, visit the zoo, the park, and go golfing. For Halloween we went to Boo the Zoo at the Reid Park Zoo in Tucson, picked out pumpkins at Pumpkins and Puppies, went to a trunk-or-treat held by Valley Gate Church, and went trick or treating in our old neighborhood! We were exhausted by the time it was all done.
Nora is a total chatterbox nowadays. She says uh-oh, beep, baby, bye bye, doggie, and puppy, among other things. She's in that stage where she'll try to pronounce whatever we say :). She's a sweet, cuddly, adventurous kid who is not afraid to let us know when she's displeased. Ben has mostly grown out of the tantrum phase - they're becoming less and less frequent and much shorter. He's also sweet and cuddly (must run in the family) and loves nothing more than to make us laugh :). We recently found out that he's a bit reserved at school, which totally surprised us because he's a chatterbox just like Nora. He's also great at talking with adults that we meet (friends or strangers!). We're going to start working on his social skills so he's not so afraid to ask other kids to play!
Happy Halloween and Dia de los Muertos everyone!!!!
