September 2021!!!
Finally! A little sub-100 degree weather! It was cool enough a few times this month to spend time at the zoo, botanical gardens and farmer's market. I took Ben to Breakfast with the Animals at the Phoenix Zoo where we saw what zoo animals eat and then had some pancakes and other treats! We are still having a difficult time with illnesses that both kids are bringing home from school, but are trying to get back to normal as much as we can.
Ben and Nora are doing great. Nora has discovered that she LOVES french fries. Apparently they're her cure-all. One afternoon when she was crying I asked her if she wanted a hug or a kiss. She said no to both, but when I asked her if she wanted french fries she stopped crying to give us a pitiful "yes". She's expanding her vocabulary, which now includes boo and lots of animal noises. Her favorite noise to make is growling like a tiger! She's also started doing tippy taps when she's excited (see video). She's a sweet kids who loves dancing and giving very aggressive kisses :).
Ben has hit us with a few very cerebral questions, including "How do we know what we see is real?". We might have a future philosopher on our hands ;). He's doing well in school - learning to read, write and how to generally exist around other kids his age. He's a sensitive, funny kid who always has something silly to say <3
