February 2022!
We finally returned Ben and Nora to school this month. It was weird to have a quiet house again. It wasn't quiet for long, though, since one of Ben's teachers tested positive for COVID resulting in him having to stay home with us for five days. Thankfully he has tested negative since :). This month I took the kids on a cold, windy adventure to Lake Pleasant to do some reconnaissance for a field trip. They were great sports despite the unusually chilly conditions and the fact that Nora was literally missing a shoe (it was at home, in her room).
Nora is able to "read" (recognize is probably a more accurate term) a few words like mama, dada, and Nora. Our favorite word that she started saying this month is "mousch" (for mouse). She loves tickles and ask for them all the time (this is a very strange concept for me since I HATE being tickled). She also loves eating whole bell peppers straight from the grocery bag (she literally searches for them when we get home with the groceries. Don't worry, we wash them for her, first! She also likes to follow me around when I'm cleaning up after Vincent in the yard and declare "Deet-deet POOOOOOP!" when she finds some. Lastly, she squeaks whenever she thinks something is super cute. She's fiercely determined and seldom asks for help when she's trying to do something on her own. Much different than Ben!
Ben is the silliest kid with a crazy imagination. He enjoys writing and illustrating his own books and composing songs with dad. He surprised us by finishing some Lego projects on his own - for some reason we didn't think he had the patience (lol). He was very happy to see his BFF, Anna, when he got back to school. He has told us that their favorite thing to play is cars. Lastly, his favorite food is tacos!!!
