August 2019
Quite late on this entry. August was a fun one! We spent a few days in Utah in early in the month. Ben loved it - his favorite place was the Golden Spike National History Park, where we got to see to steam trains (Jupiter and the 119) roll down the track. He still talks about both trains :). We were also able to fly to Atlanta to visit with our friends Ryan, Bethany, Grand and Joanna and their kids. We also got a visit from Aunt Debbie and Uncle Joe!
Some funny "Ben-isms" this month: at the start of the month he was calling us "guys". E.g., "GUYS, can we go to Target?" or "Can I have some milk, guys?"- somehow hilarious coming from a 2 year old. He also says "I'm good" if we ask his if he wants some more of something instead of no. He pronounces most words pretty well, but has a few funny mispronunciations like "bloplee" for broccoli and "ploblee" for probably. He loves reading the Pixar movies book - his favorites are Cars, Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. He still loves trains, cars, helicopters and airplanes and has now discovered how cool volcanoes are. He says they look like mountains that "SPLODE!!!". He's also started telling us stories (some very serious and some silly).
Ben's definitely acting like a 2-year old at this point. He's very good at expressing his opinions and standing up for himself. He let's us know which toys momma can play with, which dada and play with and which he will play with :). He tells Vincent to leave his food alone (Vincent has been known to grab food out of Ben's hands). He does have meltdowns a few times a week - all part of growing up :). He does listen to reason, though, as long as he's not too tired.

One of Ben's stories. I definitely did not get any shirts on this trip, but Ben did! Silly kid :)
