May 2019
May was an extra fun month for us. Nonna visited to help out while Craig was out of town, we visited the McCormick Ranch Railroad Park with our friends Amanda and Elliot, the zoo with Nonna and our friends Patrick, Trina and Rowan. Our semester finally ended, so we were also able to travel with Ben a bit. We flew to LA to see Mema, Grandma TT and Grandpa Stan. We took a road trip to Bishop for an olliebollen at Schat's and to check out all of the fun Owens Valley sites. We also got to catch up with friends in Santa Monica! Ben had a blast meeting everyone. I (sadly) didn't get any pictures of Ben with Mema - who knows where my brain was.
Long story short - Ben is doing great. Ben loves to sing songs, put together puzzles, play with his train set, and play in water. We're looking forward to trying out swim lessons again this summer. Some of his shyness is wearing off, which means he's not afraid to be a total ham around new people. He started to get some anxiety about going to school in April, so we had a conference with his teacher. Turns out, he was playing us so that we'd stick around and give him more hugs (lol). We started dropping him off with a brief goodbye and now he's back to normal. His speech is way ahead of his peers, but he still a bit behind on walking. He still topples over periodically, although that hasn't happened for several weeks. I think it might be because he's top heavy since he has such a big head (lol). His pediatrician says he checks out and doesn't seem to think it's an issue.

I'm in HOG HEAVEN. Apparently he really liked his snack that day. LOL.

Butterfly!!! Ben entertains himself on our long drive through Owens Valley.
