June 2021! Happy Birthday, Me!

This month I turned 42! I didn't learn any new skills like the kids, but I'm still proud of myself :). We officially closed on the new house on June 1st. It's been nice having the extra room for the kids to play. Thankfully, they had no issues transitioning to the new place, although he still calls it "Austin and Cara's" house (the friends we bought it from).

Nora is walking really well and is signing "please", "more" and "milk". She's a happy girl who loves playing with Ben and toddling after us through the house (it's too hot to go outside). She also took her first swim in the pool this month! She wasn't quite as skeptical as Ben when he first went swimming and jumped right in. Ben is really developing his humor and is starting to write really well. He's still enjoying school and is bringing home "lessons" to us now. Ex: "Mom, you're not listening to all my words!".

Ben-isms:

• Making up words for things (example: "Kokadrul": a big ladybug).
• Yelling "OH, THE HUMIDITY!!!!" (like "Oh, the humanity!!!") outside with his fists in the air after in rains.
• After buying a Jurassic Park mosasaurus that came with a person (it's handler, I guess?) he asked if the person was the mosasaurus's food. LOL. If they had existed at the same time, buddy, then the answer is very likely yes.
• He decided I turned "shark-forty" on my birthday this year. I'm good with that :).
• He named Nora's zebra "Zebradon", which is naturally what we call it now.
