September 2020!!!
This month we've seen a lot of changes in Miss Nora, who is now 4 months old. She can sit up by herself for a minute or so, can roll from her back to tummy and other way around, is starting to self-soothe by sucking on her fingers, and is also starting to hold her own bottle. She also really likes watching us eat, so we started her on rice cereal a couple of times a week. She's getting the hang of eating from a spoon. She really likes to blow raspberries (see video)! Nora's a happy, sometimes demanding baby - she mostly demands to see what Ben is doing at all times. She's definitely exploring her voice and is not afraid to use it. It sometimes sounds like there's an exotic bird loose in the house :).
Ben is doing great. He's very sweet with Nora, which we're grateful for. He's clearly missing spending time outside, so we're looking forward to cooler weather. We have been taking him on walks in the evening. We are struggling a bit with his reaction to frustration and are working on getting him to express his emotions ways that are a bit less ear-piercing. It's sometimes hard for us to remember that he's just 3 since he's such an advanced talker and is so tall. He loves singing, looking at flowers on our walks and making things "talk". He's still super in to Blippi and trucks/cars/planes. He makes up the funniest songs when he's playing! Also he LOVES Halloween, so we put decorations up mid-September!!!
Ben-isms:
- Asking us what randomly strung together letters would sound like. Ex: B-B-Q-Q-Q-B.
- "Sometimes I like Nora and sometimes I don't like her."
- "Butts have been around looooooong before the dinosaurs!"
- Eating cheese off the floor while pretending to be a dog.
- He made up the book title "The storm in my sky", which we suspect might refer to Nora (LOL). He likes storms, btw :).
- Making up a song called "All my grandmas went awaaaaaaaaaay" when we tried to FaceTime with Nonna and Grandma TT, but neither were available.
