16 months!!!

Ben turns 16 months old today! His vocabulary is still increasing pretty fast - it's hard to keep up, but off the top of my head I can remember banana, bear, rain, go, dinosaur, clouds, and, our favorite, ohhhhh noooooo! He loves watching Baby Shark by Super Simple Songs on youtube, which he calls the "doot-doots". Still no walking this month, but he's working on it. He's started to branch out from just hats as accessories - now he likes putting on headbands and dad's swim goggles, too. He also picks up random objects and pretends to use them as a phone. Ben's getting really good at giving Vincent pats on the head and nose without grabbing him, although I don't know if Vincent appreciates Ben's display of self-control :).

This month we visited in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Ben went on his first hike in Bandelier National Monument with our friends Nina, Mouser and Tycho and some of Craig's graduate students and colleagues at LANL. We visited the Los Alamos History Museum, the Nature Center, downtown Santa Fe, and our friends Darrell and Mary. Craig and I have been preparing for the start of the semester, so our travel schedule has slowed down quite a bit.
