14 month update

Wait... didn't I just write the 13th month update?!? Good grief. This month Ben has added "uh-oh", "baby" (while pointing to himself) and "pool" to his vocabulary. He is also shaking his head "no" and nodding for "yes". He's signing for "banana" in addition to "eat", "milk", and "hat" and can point to his eyes, nose, mouth, ears and feet. He also does an elephant impression. He got to try some ice cream for the first time while we were visiting family and has been chanting "ice cream" ever since.

Ben LOVES to look at pictures of friends and family. He especially loves watching and recording videos of himself. He also still loves hats - he points to them in stores and signs "hat". Ben and Vincent are getting along pretty well now - we think they have a healthy fear of each other. Ben has been working on giving Vincent pats. He doesn't have a lot of impulse control but he tries :).

Ben's still not walking because he's too top heavy, but he is getting better at balancing himself. He's really getting the hang of climbing now. He hasn't made it up on the sofa yet, but loves to climb up on our ottoman and chair in our bedroom. He's also getting much better with swim classes - he's kicking his feet and going underwater now. We've been practicing in our pool at home.

This month has been a busy one. We flew to Virginia to meet with family and friends. I didn't get nearly enough pictures of everyone together, especially of Ben with his Pawpaw, Grandma Helen, and Grandpa Stan. Ben did pretty well on the long plane ride :). We're working up the courage to take him up to New Jersey to meet Craig's family!

'Doh. Ben couldn't ask for a better cousin. Alexander picked up anything and everything that Ben dropped AND help interpret his babbling :).
